Carmel Campus Lego Robotics Program
Lego Mindstorms (EV3 and NXT) and other platforms
For over 5 years, the Carmel Campus has competed in a worldwide competition called the FIRST Lego League. Starting in 2013, our teams are using the brand-new, much anticipated EV3 Mindstorm robots.
In this afterschool competition, students form teams and are asked to program robots to complete various missions around a gameboard and theme, gathering points as they complete their tasks.
Through teamwork, trial and error, troubleshooting, and debugging their code - our teammates work to score as many points as possible in the competition. In addition, teams are asked to solve a community problem based on the season's theme (for example, the 2013 theme is Nature's Fury) and present to a panel of judges for additional points.

Robotics is a growing opportunity for Students at the Carmel Campus: We are using the Lego Mindstorm robots in afterschool classes and in our STEM curricula. Students can extend their programming knowledge with RobotC and Arduino units available through the technology department, and continue their interest at the Pebble Beach campus, where the Robotics program is also growing at a great pace.
